Senate District 60 Special Election


The governor has issued a Writ of Special Election to fill a vacancy in Senate District 60 using the schedule below. The vacancy was caused by the death of Senator Kari Dziedzic on December 27, 2024. Senate District 60 represents northeastern parts of Minneapolis in Hennepin County.

  • Special Primary: January 14, 2025 
  • Special Election: January 28, 2025 

Filing Information

Candidates may file for this office during the filing period below with the Hennepin County election office, or at the Office of the Minnesota Secretary of State in Saint Paul. Candidates and their supporters are reminded that, in addition to filing their candidacy for office as described above, campaign committees must register with the Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board no later than 14 days after the committee has raised or spent $750.
