Secretary Simon Highlights Post-Election Review Process

November 18, 2024

SAINT PAUL – On Monday, November 18, Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon visited Hennepin County’s post-election review in Minneapolis. The review is a hand count of the ballots for each eligible election (U.S. President, U.S. Senator, and U.S. Representative) in randomly selected precincts compared with the results from the voting system used in those precincts.

“Today is a reminder that the 2024 Election is not over yet, as post-election reviews are underway in all 87 counties,” said Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon. “Post-election reviews are a critical safeguard to ensure the accuracy of our election results and provide transparency to the public.”

Post-election reviews are required by state law to be completed by all Minnesota counties after every state general election.

The State Canvassing Board will meet on Thursday, November 21 to certify Minnesota’s 2024 General Election results.
